Mechanism
CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), designed to stimulate the pituitary's pulsatile release of growth hormone. Ipamorelin is a selective GH secretagogue that acts on the ghrelin receptor, without the appetite-stimulating or cortisol-raising effects seen with earlier-generation secretagogues like GHRP-6.
Why the two are studied together
The two compounds act on distinct receptor pathways — GHRH mimetic and GHRP mimetic — which is why research protocols frequently combine them: together they aim to reproduce a more physiological, pulsatile GH release pattern than either compound alone.
